MATTAWAN AYSO SOCCER
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Wondering what happens next…
GREAT… you’ve registered your children for an exciting, fun and fulfilling year of team building, friendships and soccer skill learning!!

NOW is when the fun begins…

Mom, when do I start playing soccer?

This will depend on which season you signed up for! The fall soccer season runs from September-October 2010; the spring season runs from April-May 2011. Signing up for a full season encompasses both the fall and spring season.

Dad, who will be on my team?

The AYSO board, with the help of www.eayso.org, will put teams together. Teams are randomly formed, by the computer, with the information entered during registration. Things like height/weight, years of experience and coach ratings from the previous year will all be used in forming the teams. Once the number of volunteer coaches is known we will enter that information into the computer and then teams are created. This is generally done in June and July…or as soon as coaches commit!

When will I know who my coach is?

The coaches will receive their roster information at a meeting in August. You should hear from your coach by the first day of school. If you don’t hear from your coach by then, please email the registrar at Karen.baldwin-registrar@comcast.net. The registrar will get back with you within a few days.

But I want to play on the same team as…..

Because teams are randomly formed based on the criteria mentioned above we are unable to selectivelyplace children on the same team as friends. If it is important for your child to be on the same team as another child, you may choose to coach or become an assistant coach for the team your child desires to be a part of.  Please email the registrar at Karen.baldwin-registrar@comcast.net

When will I get my uniform?

Uniforms are ordered late June or early July and are expected to be available in late August.  You will receive your uniform by the first scheduled game!

You know…I have questions too says Mom, Dad and other family members and friends!

What if my child decides not to play, or we move our of the area?

If you notify the registrar by June 15th, we can refund 50% of the fee (Mattawan AYSO has already paid a nonrefundable fee to National AYSO by this date). If you notify the registrar by August 15th, we can refund 25% of the fee (Uniforms have been ordered and paid for by this date). After August 15th, the commissioner will determine if money can be refunded or you can choose to donate your fee to the region for the continued growth of Mattawan AYSO!
